Overcalling a Suit: (Part 4 of 13) Responder Without a Fit – Intermediate

When we don’t have a major-suit fit, we look to play in notrump. To bid notrump, we need a specific point range, and in a competitive auction, we may also need a stopper (if we are the first person to bid notrump after the opponents have bid a suit). If we can’t bid notrump because we don’t have the strength or we don’t have the stopper, we need to determine if we can bid a minor.
