Overcalling a Suit: (Part 12 of 13) Advancer Without a Fit – Intermediate and Stronger

To bid notrump, we need to have the correct points (notrump always has a range) and if we are the first person in our partnership to bid after the opponents have bid a suit, we also need a stopper. Missing one of these elements can mean we need to consider our last choice: a minor. If we can’t do that, we need to pass. It’s important to remember that the notrump point ranges are different for advancer than for responder.
