Level of Fit: (Part 6 of 6) LoF isn’t Always the Answer

Not only do certain conditions need to be present for a bid to be level of fit (it must be a competitive auction and our side has to have only bid the one suit), but also, we need to meet specific requirements. Level of fit is a tool in your toolbox. Like any other tool, you want to use it when it fits the situation. Always go back to your priorities: Major first, notrump second, and minor last. Then, if you know you want to raise partner’s suit, determine if doing so would be level of fit and if so, if that’s appropriate with your hand.
