When overcaller preempts (by making a weak-jump overcall) their intent is to disrupt the auction and make our lives difficult. Don’t panic! Much of what you have already learned, applies here. Our point requirements for bidding both notrump and new suits are the same. Our shape requirements are also the same. The only difference is that we are forced to bid higher. Sometimes, this means that even with a decent hand, we won’t be able to bid.
